On Erasure and American Fiction

If you’ve been following my writing at all, then you know I was excited to see American Fiction, the newly released film adaptation of Percival Everett’s Erasure. I saw it, and wrote about it for JSTOR Daily. I hope that this is the first of many opportunities to talk about this amazing film and Percival Everett’s work.

The Indelible Lessons of Erasure

  1. It’s a great film with stellar performances all around. I always assumed one of Everett’s “minor” novels or stories would get made into a feature film before this one. But the stars aligned and Cord Jefferson happened to be the right director at the right time. I actually haven’t got to Dr. No yet. It’s hard to keep up with this man’s writing pace!
